Youth Symphony of the Southwest will be holding auditions the 2024-2025 season on April 29th and April 30th, 2024 . The auditions will be held from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, by appointment, at

Grace Community Church

Scales as defined for your instrument, audition excerpts (available at the link below) and a one and one-half to two minute solo of your choosing.

Strings: All major and melodic minor scales and arpeggios in 3 octaves.  Two scales will be chosen for the audition.

Winds and brass: play a chromatic scale from the bottom to the top of the range.

Harp: play the Swan Lake cadenza from the audition excerpts a one and one-half to two minute solo of your choosing.

Percussion: play the audition excerpts concentrating on the snare drum parts if not all instruments are available.
